Group Therapy

Group Therapy

Group Therapy is a type of confidential counseling in which a group of people meets to discuss shared concerns and problems with a therapist leading the session. Group members listen to feedback from others in the group to reflect on their shared challenges. Group members can act as a support for each other and share a therapeutic experience. Group therapy can provide a safe setting to cope with many problems, including dealing with social anxieties, mood disorders, relationship issues, eating disorders, loss, grief, anger, personality disorders, surviving abuse, divorce, health issues, parenting needs, and general psychotherapy concerns.

Some choose to join group therapy to supplement their primary therapy and gain additional support and balance. The simple act of listening can be beneficial as the person talking is dealing with similar problems, feelings, thoughts, and circumstances. Members of group therapy can relate to one another, support one another, and offer ongoing encouragement. The therapist can see first-hand how each group member responds to other members and use this to provide feedback to each group member.

Group Therapy can give you the opportunity to share your feelings and have a therapist offer an insightful neutral perspective. MindShift Psychological Services is here to help you if you are looking for affordable Therapy on various issues and topics.
